The Cambridge team secured a £1.4 million National Institute for Health and Care Research Invention for Innovation (i4i) Product Development Award. Cambridge University Hospitals announced the funding on 10 September 2024.

The programme supports further development of a smart joint trial liner intended to measure forces during hip replacement surgery. ArtioSense’s company announcement described support for two years of development.

The objective is to bring quantitative force information into surgical assessment. The funding announcement does not establish regulatory approval or completed clinical validation.
